Single family homes have long been considered a good way to get started in real estate investment. Commercial real estate investors have sometimes considered this type of investment “for amateurs only.” How the world has changed. Today, many of the worlds leading real estate investment firms are pouring billions into single family homes. Meanwhile, savvy local investors are realizing strong profits buying, renovating, expanding and reselling single family homes. Whether their projects are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars or many millions per home, these pioneering investors are creating a whole new asset class that merits serious consideration.
This round table discussion among established local developers, brokers and lenders explores single family homes as an investment, including for renovation and resale, as well as portfolios of rental homes. Panelists will discuss what is working in today’s market. The discussion will be lively, candid and full of useful information for developers, investors, brokers as well as professional service providers with an interest in single family housing.
