Opportunities and challenges in Single-Cell Biology

The cell is the basic unit of life, however only very recent technological advancements that span from single cell multi-omics to high-throughput live imaging have allowed scientists to actually observe and measure complex biological processes, and new signalling pathways at single cell level. These new multidimensional approaches reveal that no two cells are exactly the same and subtle changes that make each one unique are emerging.

The increased resolution and the complexity of the analysis are shaking our perspective on basic biological processes and are revealing new molecular networks. This scientific revolution can pave the way for a novel interpretation of the cell biology, especially those at the basis of complex phenotypes.

The second edition of this free workshop focuses on the new opportunities and challenges that the "single-cell revolution" brings at the experimental, technological and data-analysis levels, but also on novel paradigms in modern biology. Condensed in one day program, the speakers will present new biological insights find out while moving from “too many “to “one”.

Topics: Single Cell Sequencing, Bioinformatics, Immunology, Imaging
