Event description

Description

Do you know a girl who loves music or loves to sing?

Sing It Girls! is a fun and interactive group vocal program for girls ages 7-12. We know that many young women love to sing so we’ve integrated calming strategies and singing into a program that allows girls to nurture their love of music while also learning ways of taking care of themselves. Girls will learn the following:

  1. The link between breath and feeling anxious (cycle of tension)
  2. Progressive muscle relaxation
  3. Music and imagery exercises
  4. Breathing techniques for relaxing (and singing!)
  5. Group vocal play and exploration
  6. Vocal exercises for strengthening the voice
  7. Toning – using the voice for meditation (= more relaxation)
  8. Singing – chants and songs (exploring creativity!)

Wondering about why the Sing it Girls program is so effective and fun for girls?

Why girls love the Sing it Girls Program:

“I really like when we get to talk about our feelings” – age 9

“I like the place where the sessions happen. We can say our feelings about school or let everyone know what we are stressing about and then we can find solutions with music and breathing” – age 11

“I like it when we are warming up for singing” – age 9

“I love the Sing it Girls original songs that we create” – age 10
