About this event

[This Sing a Secret will create a safe(r) space for BIPOC identified folx to explore their voices and will be led by Andrina Wekontash Smith, a black Shinnecock singer, writer, actor, and storyteller who has trained with Jonathan in his Inside Voice techniques for half a decade. Jonathan will be in the room as support staff for Andrina's facilitation.]

Are you terrified to sing?

"You made what is (at least for me) quite a traumatic experience, one of the most liberating and enjoyable things I've done"

Are you a trained singer who misses having an emotional and spiritual connection to your voice?

"Jonathan's techniques helped me to explore my emotional range connecting to my true self with my naked voice. It was shocking and liberating!"

Are you seeking a mindfulness practice that unites your voice, body, and spirit?

"It was a life-altering experience! I left with a clearer outlook and a new grasp on self-love."

Won't you come Sing a Secret/

"It completely changed the way I sing, think about singing, and enjoy doing it all!"

This FREE two-hour introduction to Inside Voice a mindbody approach to voice and song, will offer you a joyful space to discover the beautiful voice that has been inside you all along.

Whether you are a seasoned professional, a proud shower singer, or someone who has never opened their mouth to sing, Inside Voice allows singers and "non-singers" alike to uncover the power and beauty of their full 5-octave range while developing a deep, emotive connection to their own unique sound.

Through exercises and group songs that are as silly as they are revelatory, Inside Voice shows that the only limits on our voices are the ones we impose on them and that to work on the voice is to work on the self. You’ll learn to harness powerful, heartbreaking, visceral, fragile, and otherworldly sounds you never dreamed were inside you all the while dramatically extending your range, building your confidence, and strengthening the emotional links between you and your voice.

Sing a Secret will be taught by various members of a collective of teachers trained by Jonathan Stancato in Inside Voice techniques. For some, it may be their first time teaching these techniques to a group. It's a win-win for everyone: they get practice and you get a free group singing experience.

This is a FREE event but since space is limited, we ask that everyone Venmo a $20 deposit to @InsideVoice, fully refundable if (and only if) you attend. Your registration is not complete until Venmo deposit has been received.

COVID POLICY: All participants must bring in proof of a negative test from the day of the workshop.

We are committed to making Sing a Secret safe and accessible to everyone. It is my highest priority to approach voice work and healing in a way that is anti-racist, feminist-conscious, queer- and trans-friendly and body-positive in every way.
