A survey of his formative years, his deep spiritual trials in the Augustinian monastery, and forgotten content of the so-called Niney-Five Theses. Focus will be given to some of his themes bearing contemporary relevance: suffering and power, law and gospel, interpretations of baptism and communion. We will view and discuss the film Luther, concluding with a sobering expose' of his troubling Anit-Semitism and its place in the larger story of Euro-American recism. Interactive Lifelong Learning for Adults of Any Age!

Simpson University provides an affordable and academically challenging learning environment framed in a Christian worldview. Simpson University for Seniors offers exciting learning opportunities at our Redding campus for adults of any age.

Our unique, month long courses are not-for-credit, open to the public, and meet three times a week for a total of 10 one-hour instructional sessions. Presented by current or retired university professionals in their field of expertise, these courses are designed to enhance your joy of learning. They are held in classroom settings on Simpson's campus for an authentic university experience - but without homework, tests or grades!

Classes will be held back to back from 10:20am - 11:20am and 11:30am - 12:30pm on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays in the Owen Student Services Center room 306 on the Simpson University Campus.
