BESA® Research Workshop Vancouver, July 5-7, 2017

About BESA:

BESA GmbH was founded in 1995 by Professor Michael Scherg. BESA Research is a leading commercial software package for EEG and MEG data analysis. Analysis options range from pre-processing to advanced source analysis, coherence, and statistical analysis. BESA Research is used in more than 1500 universities and hospitals world-wide.

Things you need to bring:

  • Your own laptop
  • Downloads of the software and tutorials (we will provide links before the workshop)

Things you can optionally bring:

  • Your own BESA license dongle

Does your lab only have a single license to share among multiple researchers?  Or maybe you are curious about BESA and want a guided tour through BESA Research before choosing to get your own licenses?

We will be able to provide loan license dongles to attendees which can run the complete suite of BESA software tools, so even if you don’t own your own BESA license you can come and learn about the software.

Which ticket type is right for me?

If you are new to BESA Research or would like a deeper refresher, we would encourage you to get the Beginner ticket so that you can attend all three days of the workshop including the first day which will focus on the core operations of the software.

If you have been using BESA Research for some time, the Advanced ticket is probably right for you as this gives you access to the afternoon session of the first day plus, the second and third days where we will be focusing on source localization techniques, BESA MRI and Statistics, and the newer features in the latest releases of the software suite.

What can you expect?

  • A workshop program catered to the needs of beginners through to advanced source analysis - choose the program customized to your needs.
  • Hands-on analysis of a real dataset from raw data to source images, source coherence, and statistical analysis of group data - step by step.
  • Introductory presentations to help understanding the methodological background of BESA Research features.
  • Please note: The program is subject to changes.
