6:30 PM Simchat Torah Dancing and Service
Holy hullabaloo! It’s Simchat Torah…the craziest holiday of the year! If Moses were around, he’d say, “Let my people dance!” We’ll make flags (and wave them)…play “Torah Jenga”…roll up some edible “sifrei”…dine on scrumptious spaghetti cooked by the Men of TRS kitchen crew…witness the glory of an unscrolled Torah…and dance our socks off!
The Men of TRS are cooking up spaghetti with your choice of red sauce, meatballs or pesto, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. All this for $5/adult…and FREE for kids. Current and potential Men of TRS members are needed as volunteers to cook, serve or help with setting up or cleaning up. No experience necessary!
During the Simchat Torah Service at 6:30 PM, the Torah scrolls are taken from the ark and all are encouraged to dance with the Torah. The concluding section of the fifth book of the Torah, D’varim (Deuteronomy), is read, and immediately following, the opening section of Genesis, or B’reishit as it is called in Hebrew.
Let the balagan begin! Come for dinner…or just a cocktail and nibble…and raise your yad!

Simchat Torah Inclusion Service, Dinner & Activity
The TRS Inclusion Committee invites all members of the TRS community to join us for an Simchat Torah Inclusion service at 5:00 PM. This service, in addition to our regular 6:30 PM service, was created to reach members of the congregation with special needs and provide a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Dinner and a craft activity follow in the Multi-Purpose Room. Purchase the spaghetti dinner ticket here. Please contact Carin Lomax or Nancy Reder at inclusion@templerodefshalom.org with any questions about the Inclusion service, or the activities of the committee.
