About this Event

After participating in this workshop, attendees will:

  • Know how to write a Silver or Bronze Anvil entry application that is specific, accurate and relevant and adheres to PRSA’s requirements.
  • Know how to write SMART objectives that will establish an exceptional foundation for their tactic or campaign that may translate into a winning entry.
  • Learn what not to do so that PRSA judges do not dismiss your entry.

An award-winning writer, podcaster, executive producer and communications professional, Rhonda Morin, APR, knows what it takes to win awards. She’s been doing it all her life.

Her background over two decades spans the communications field in areas such as corporate communications and promotions for Clark College Foundation and Maine Public Broadcasting; producer of comprehensive and capital fundraising campaigns and a referendum campaign; and editor of specialty publications in information technology, health care policy, college magazines. She is exceptionally skilled at distilling complex information into clear and concise messages.

In her current role as executive director of communications and marketing for Clark College Foundation, she provides public relation assessments, strategic planning solutions, evaluation and overall brand management. Additionally, she produces all internal and external content, advertising, audio and visual media production.

Career awards include a distinguished 2020 Bronze Anvil Commendation from the Public Relations Society of America; two merit awards from PRSA Oregon in 2020 and a 2019 Spotlight award; a 2020 bronze award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VIII, and a 2017 bronze and silver accolade from CASE District VIII. Further awards include a 2015 platinum and gold in the Best Practices for Fundraising Campaigns from CASE District VIII.

Personally, Morin is an avid cyclist and racer. She’s a bronze medalist in USA Cycling’s National Cyclocross Championship and holds multiple Oregon state titles in cyclocross. She also plays guitar, is a licensed Oregon emergency medical technician, has a background in wilderness search and rescue and is an ardent outdoorswoman.
