Description

Silver Metal Clay Pendant with Glass Cabochon

This one-day, fast paced workshop will share the secrets of success of making a lovely pendant using silver and a handmade glass cabochon stone. The silver metal clay is recycled from pure silver (.999 pure) and manufactured to be workable almost like ceramic clay – hand shaping with your fingers and small hand tools. The glass cabochon is set into the clay and then the whole piece is fired in a glass kiln under high heat, resulting in a beautiful silver and glass pendant in one day.

The workshop details: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Bring a work apron and eye magnification, if needed, for close detail work. Cost is $105 per person, which includes all materials and the use of tools. Taught by Debra Carus, a Senior Instructor with Art Clay World, in collaboration with Betsy Valian, glass cabochon maker. No experience needed.

Minimum 3 people, maximum 7.
