Welcome to SilicoNegev Kick-Off Event: The Official Launch of SilicoNegev2019!

SilicoNegev is THE start-up competition and entrepreneurship conference of the Negev.

Each year hundreds of techies gather round this celebration of southern entrepreneurship.

This year we’re launching registration in a memorable night hosted by Startup Nation Central!

Just before launching the 500,000NIS start-up competition for the 3rd time, we wanted to invite you to get inspired and join us for a unique session about Hi-Tech, innovation, Negev region and everything in between.

About the speakers:

Gideon Shavit:

Chairman of Advanced Technology Center-Negev;
Promoting and Investing in High Tech Ventures in the Negev

Gil Sadis:

I'm an experienced product and marketing guy, working in some of Israel’s leading startups. Currently, I'm VP Product at Lemonade, reinventing homeowners and renters insurance. Previously, I worked as VP Product at BlazeMeter (acquired) and Taptica (IPO) and founded my own company, Licensario. I hold a BSc in Software Engineering from Ben Gurion University. One of my biggest passions is to help startups. I'm a mentor at the Sigmalab Accelerator (powered by Yahoo) and a frequent speaker at startup meetings and conferences.

Izhar Shay:

As head of Canaan’s Israel operations since 2005, Mr. Izhar Shay focuses on building great companies in communications and mobility, software, clean technologies and digital media.
He also seeks key investments in medical devices. Izhar Shay led Canaan’s investments in LiveU, Efficient Finance, EnStorage, Prime Sense and N-trig. Izhar also oversees Canaan’s local involvement in other Israeli companies.
With more than 20 years of operational experience as a successful entrepreneur, Izhar Shay was previously Chairman and CEO of V-Secure Technologies, which he grew to a leading position in the intrusion prevention market. The company was acquired by Radware (RDWR) in November 2005. Prior to V-Secure, Izhar Shay was CEO and co-founder of Business Layers, a Canaan portfolio company. Izhar led Business Layers from startup to a dominant player position in the identity management market, until it was acquired by Netegrity (NETE) in December 2003.

Inbal Shenfeld:

Active startup Angel investor. Held HR and operations positions at Intel, Comverse, and Veolia Environment, overseeing activities in Israel Europe and Asia. At Intel was a member in several strategic innovations thought leadership teams. Lead high volume projects and has ample experience in organization structures, high performance team building, change management and mergers and acquisition.
Inbal is now fully immersed in the tech ecosystem both in Israel and London, after successfully raising capital for 2 of her own startups and actively helping build a strong female lead tech community.
Inbal holds a B.A. in business management and an M.A of international economic candidate at the Hebrew university.

Gadi Porat:

Gadi has over 20 years of experience in the Hi-Tech industry, in software delivery and management positions, delivering software and products to global markets. Also he has hands-on experience with software sales and delivery life cycle including working with many Fortune 500 companies. He has lead an innovation center from prototyping new concepts and technologies, M&A, warrants agreements, and mentoring startups. In his past positions, Gadi has led Israel’s AT&T Foundry, the American multinational conglomerate’s accelerator which identifies the next generation of leading companies in the fields of communications and media. He was one of the leaders of live communications company; Interwise, acquired by AT&T in late 2007. Gadi has an Executive MBA from Bar-Ilan University, Israel and a BA in Economics (Major in Business Administration) from Ruppin College, Israel.
