The Silicon Valley Cybersecurity Summit, featuring CISPA co-author Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, will be held on April 3 from 7:15 am to noon. This Silicon Valley Leadership Group event will be held at Microsoft’s Mountain View campus.
Rep. Ruppersberger, (D-Maryland), is the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee and co-sponsor of the Cyber IntelligenceSharing and Protection Act. He will be joined by Dr. Patricia Falcone from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Laura Mather, Founder and Chief Visionary from Silver Tails Systems; Steve Kirsch, technology entrepreneur and Founder/CEO of One ID; Mo Qayoumi, President of San Jose State University and recently appointed to the Homeland Security Advisory Committee by Secretary Janet Napolitano; and other cybersecurity experts from Silicon Valley technology companies, academia and the legal sector.
The event will feature three panels that will explore:
- The President’s Executive Order and 2013 Cybersecurity Legislative priorities for Silicon Valley companies
- Moving the innovation economy on a parallel course with cybersecurity outlining Silicon Valley cybersecurity eco-systems - software, hardware and services
- On-line privacy protection, consumer privacy through an open Internet; and the role of government oversight and responsibilities of the public-private infrastructure.
