When we go on journeys, we discover within ourselves an eagerness and curiosity to experience something new. We let go and awaken our senses. This is such a journey, a journey to explore the language of our heart.

Our heart keeps us alive. As long as it is working, we don’t give it much thought. It is our source of life. We laugh, sing, gather together and share joyous moments using heart energy. Our senses, feelings, creative urges and curiosity are centered in our heart. We feel love and receive love. It is through our heart that we connect to the true meaning of our lives.

There is more than this. Our heart is the pathway to our soul. It is through our heart that we connect to the true meaning of our lives. This is our journey. We awaken our senses. We open to the unknown. We open to our heart in silence. It is through silence that we experience the spaciousness of our heart.

This a journey to explore the language of the heart. We will start this journey by simply noticing the moments throughout our life that bring joy and happiness to our lives. We will spend time in contemplation opening to these moments within our hearts. There will be time for sharing, reflection and journaling.

Our facilitator, Laura Desmaris explored meditation while living in India over ten years ago. Since then she found herself drawn to Centering Prayer and has been influenced by Thomas Keating and Cynthia Bourgeault - combining all of her prayer and meditation experiences to create this offering. She is a Spiritual Director and has led Centering Prayer with Sr Pat Irr, OSF in prior seasons at Tau Center.
