Description

Please join us for a series of short films that will explore our Sikh identity and heritage. We will also be celebrating Bhagat Singh Thind's 100th anniversary of service in the US Army.

Children 10 and up are welcome to attend with their parent or guardian. For children ages 6-10, we will have a room on site where they will be entertained by our staff.

Tickets: $20 for early bird pricing or $30 at the door.

Short Films for Cluster B:

1) We are not strangers - A documentary that explores the eviction of over 250 Sikhs and other Indian citizens from Bellingham WA in September 1907.

2) Humble the Poet - A film that introduces a Toronto-based Sikh hip-hop performer who combines his experience as an immigrant with rhyming skills.

3) Proud Mothers - A short that comedically explores the pain and pride of Indian mothers conversing about their children.

4) Tigerstyle - Glasgow-based brothers Raj and Pops who make up the music duo Tigerstyle try to stay true to their Sikh roots in their mission to produce and promote hip-hop Bhangra fusion music.

5) Sikh Formaggio - Directed by Dan Duran. A film about the centuries old parmesean cheese industry of Northern Italy is one about history, passion, tradition and... Sikhs?

6) When a Tree Falls - A documentary that is a study on the aftermath of the horrors of 1984. The film aims to create a unique discussion about 1984, exploring how the events have changed the Sikh community as a whole.

7) I Run While Talking to God - A video profile of 101-year-old Fauja Singh, the world's oldest marathon runner, who carried the 2012 Olympic torch through London.
