Inside Episode VI: The contribution of the colorist in film goes beyond just making the scenes and images look good. A great colorist will draw the audience's eye to what is important in the story and enhance the emotional tone of the film in ways that can be subtle yet effective.

Join us for this special conversation with colorists Stephen Nakamura ("X-Men: Days of Future Past," "The Martian," "Prometheus") and Élodie Ichter ("The Irishman," "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood," "The Maze Runner") as they discuss the creative process of color grading in their work. Jason Druss who is a senior colorist at WarnerMedia Studios, will guide the conversation as well as show examples of how Stephen and Élodie use color correction to make their films click for audiences. There will be a section for you to ask questions during this event!

Jason Druss is a Senior Colorist at WarnerMedia Studios. Based in Atlanta, Jason frequently works on short and long form content for TNT, HBO Max, TCM, Cartoon Network, Bleacher Report and NBA TV. Previously, Jason was a colorist at NFL Films as well as a Davinci Resolve Product Specialist at Blackmagic Design. Say hello on Instagram @jason.druss

Élodie Ichter began her career in 2000, working as a color assist in her native Paris. Throughout the years, Elodie has honed and polished her craft, but insists on maintaining a student’s eye. She often finds inspiration beyond the moving image, looking to fine art and photography, to fully realize her clients’ creative vision. Elodie collaborates early on with filmmakers as she believes in starting the collaborative process from its inception in order to make the process more efficient, more specific, and technical implementation smoother.

Elodie’s roster of credits recent years includes, “The Irishman”, “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”, and “Okja”. Most recently, Ichter graded Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” by with cinematography by Joshua James Richards - which took the two top prizes, the Golden Frog and the Fipresci Jury Honors, at Camerimage 2020.

Among the most accomplished feature film colorists in Hollywood, Stephen Nakamura has worked alongside directors such as David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Kathryn Bigelow, Spike Lee, David O. Russell, and Steven Spielberg, as well as cinematographers Dariusz Wolski, ASC, Claudio Miranda, ASC, Robert Richardson, ASC, and Janusz Kaminski.

His feature film credits include "Da Five Bloods," "News of the World," "It: Chapter Two," "Crazy Rich Asians," and "Extraction, Alien: Covenant" and many more blockbuster epics and award winners.

Prior to joining Company 3, Nakamura was with Technicolor Digital Services, where he got his start in feature film finishing. Previously he was a colorist with the Post Group, working on commercial, music video, television and feature film projects. He began his career at California Video Center.

In 2018 Nakamura was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
