Karla is a multicultural marketing specialist who develops in-culture brand engagement for Fortune 500 Companies, Government entities, and Non-Profits. She is a bilingual/bicultural advertising strategist with over 20 years of experience.

Karla has specific expertise in launching new products, propelling existing brands into new markets, and revitalizing lagging brands with category experience in healthcare, cause marketing, higher education, transportation, energy/telecom, packaged goods and financial services. Some of the brands she has worked with include UnitedHealthcare, Wells Fargo, TXU Energy, Jack Daniel’s, P&G, Edward Jones, University of Texas Austin Extended Campus, and Capital Metro. She has provided many marketing industry presentations including Association of Commuter Transportation, Hispanicize, Houston AMA, Texas Career Colleges Convention, IQPC’s Multicultural Conference, U.S. Hispanic Marketing; The Food & Beverage Institute; The National Bar and Restaurant Association; National Hispanic Business Association; The Food Marketing Institute and many more. She is a multicultural training expert with guest lecture appearances at The University of Texas at San Antonio, The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, SAVisión and Accion Texas.

Her case study on the Latina Grocery Shopper model is featured in one of the most acclaimed books on marketing to Hispanics. Karla is a monthly column in Media Post’s Hispanic Features.

Lavone Norwood, Founder

Lavone Norwood is the founder of MN Human Resources Consulting which provides small and mid-sized businesses with Executive Level experience, guidance, and expertise. A retired executive from Verizon Communications, her professional career encompasses several Fortune 500 companies including Verizon Communications, TRW, Consumers Power, and Ohio Bell. In her most recent position at Verizon Communications, Lavone was responsible for all aspects of human resources management for the South/West Area which included 15k employees at all levels of the organization and encompassed 13 states within Verizon’s domestic footprint. Prior to her business,

Prior to her business role, Lavone held corporate-wide responsibilities and led a team that provided employee relations, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action plans and external audits as well as managing an enterprise-wide employee assistance program (EAP).

Lavone has served on the following boards: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) - Texas local board, Inroads International - Southwest, Political Action committee (PAC) - Texas and the North Texas Womens Business Council.

Lavone received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with Honors from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas.

Tzatzil LeMair, Senior Content Marketing Specialist
Sensis Texas

Tzatzil LeMair is a first-generation Mexican-American cross-cultural marketer. She currently leads content marketing and social media efforts at Sensis Texas. She specializes in digital marketing and bilingual storytelling. Her career spans two decades starting as a media planner at Young & Rubicam in London and later as associate media director at DMB&B in New York where she led media teams on blue-chip clients such as Procter & Gamble, Burger King and Ernst & Young. Before joining Sensis, LeMair ran an award-winning multi-sport company devoted to promoting women’s health throughout Texas and served as a digital marketing consultant to nonprofits and minority-owned businesses. She has a bachelor of fine arts from New York University and an MBA with a concentration in marketing and a master of science in media management from Boston University.


Angela Neal, Founder & CEO
Just The Heart, LLC

Angela Neal is a returning Board Member and immediate past EVP of Special Interest Groups (SIGs). She is the founder of Just The Heart, LLC, a creative designs and services company providing personalized strategies and solutions for graphic design, analytics & insights, motion graphics & video, web design, and PR & marketing support services.

Adept at uniting technical challenges and creative vision to produce client engaging results, Angela has supported fortune 500 companies and start-ups in establishing and improving on customer, site, and campaign digital initiatives. Angela touts a wealth of experience and leadership spanning multiple verticals ranging from aerospace to telecommunications, healthcare to insurance, automotive, sports, and more. She is a forward-thinking, creative, and analytically competent leader. Her proven track record includes having created trajectories with 100% accuracy as part of Ascent Flight Design and Dynamics for NASA Shuttle Missions and working onsite during launches.

Angela and her team at Just The Heart were awarded 2018 Marketer of the Year for work submitted in the Insurance Category, and were a Spotlight Business of the Super Bowl XLV Emerging Business Program. The company was also awarded a contract with the NFL for the Super Bowl XLV Business Leadership Forum.

Angela holds a BS Mathematics from Spelman College, MS Mathematics from Tennessee Technological University, Executive MBA from UTD, and BFA Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Dallas.
