Event Details

*Pre-Workshop Questions Here!*

Workshop Description: In this workshop, participants will look at the process for designing an innovative solution to an already existing problem, including learning models for quickly testing market assumptions.

Who Should Attend? This workshop is designed for early-stage organizations who are in the process of designing their initial program or idea, as well as established organizations proposing a second, third, etc. version of their program or concept.

Speaker? Rashmir Balasubramaniam of Nsansa.

Networking and Food/Drinks? We'll host a half-hour of networking before the workshop begins, starting at 4.30pm. You'll be able to mingle with SIFP 2011 Semi-Finalist/Finalist alumni, 2012 mentors, judges, & coaches, and your fellow workshop participants. Heavy appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.

Anything Else? Participants will be asked to spend 1-2 hours in advance of the workshop answering a short set of questions in regards to their market opportunity and targeted audience, in order to apply market principles to their organization in the workshop.

**SIFP Requirement: Early-stage organizations MUST attend at least one workshop prior to application deadline on July 6th, while leaders of later-stage and established programs are recommended to attend as they see fit, but are but not required to do so. If you are an early-stage organization who intends to apply to SIFP and a $30 workshop fee is a financial hardship, a number of scholarhips are available; please email Social Venture Partner's executive director Paul Shoemaker (Shoe [at] svpseattle [dot] org) for more information. For more information on the SIFP workshops, please see our website.

About the SIFP Process: From very early ideas to established organizations, SIFP is here to help. Over a three-month incubation period (mid-July – mid-October), our workshops, mentors and volunteer consultants will coach Puget Sound area nonprofits and social enterprises to assess strengths and weaknesses, refine their business models, support their team, and articulate their innovation. Yes, it's true: Organizations best poised to win the October 18th SIFP Finale at Seattle Center will have to have their act together. But no matter what stage an organization is in when they apply, we'll help forty innovative social impact entrepreneurs or nonprofit leaders get on the path to winning for their organization and for our community.
