Bring Healing and purifying Light into your Life!
At 10:50 am Sheila Shaw will recite the English translation of the Zengensanji. At 11:00 am sharp the MONTHLY SAMPAI will formally commence with the thunderous sound of the Taiko drum. This will be followed by a traditional offering presentation. Then we will begin group chanting of the Amatsunorito and the Zengensanji. After this, Sensei Eugene Imai will share the healing and purifying Light of Jyorei with everyone present.
Healthy Heartwarming Hot Lunch
The sampai will be followed afterwards by a hot lunch in the Community Room. Jeanne Grosset and friends will be the chefs this month. They will be preparing a delicious meal. Almost all of the food will be made from Natural Agriculture and organic ingredients. Cost is $5.00 each for adults.
Healthy Homemade Cookie Booth
Nancy E’s Baked Goods will also have fresh home made cookies for sale made with healthy and delicious ingredients.
Natural Agriculture Market
At the Natural Agriculture Booth we will be selling cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, and possibly carrots. Also California brown rice, ancient heirloom fusilli whole wheat pasta from Canada, soy beans from Ohio, organic extra virgin olive oil from Temecula, California, and soy sauce, shitake mushrooms, and tea from Japan. Everything except the olive oil was grown by Natural Agriculture methods.
Inspirational Reading Circle
At around 2:30 pm, there will be a reading circle for studying and discussing Meishusama’s teachings. At this time we will read sections of the Teachings and discuss their meaning and significance. You are encouraged to share your thoughts and feelings about what is being read or to seek clarification about significant points. Many people say they learn better from discussing ideas with others than from just reading by themselves. Carroll Hill will lead the group discussion. Please bring your own copy of the Essential Teachings of Meishusama so that you have something to read.
