Event description

Description

Parents and students have been conditioned to fear the college admission process, and in doing so we often fail to see the good moments and the positive outcomes.

Join Maria Furtado, Executive Director of Colleges That Change Lives (CTCL), for a frank discussion about the college admission process.

In this warm, witty, and dynamic presentation, Ms. Furtado offers parents and students a greater understanding of and appreciation for topics related to college choice and student-centered college search.

Founded in 1996, Colleges That Change Lives is a leading advocate on the subject of higher education access and college choice. CTCL helps students and families find the best college 'fit' possible.

In addition, CTCL supports college counselors who are working to help students frame their college search beyond the ratings and rankings.

Parents, students, educators, and community members welcome! Free admission and light refreshments. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available.

Sequoia Parent Education Series events are sponsored by SHSEF, Sequoia Healthcare District, and Sequoia Union High School District.
