About the Performance

The performance will feature the fast-paced, intricate, and expressive classical Indian dance form of Bharatha Natyam, along with other regional styles of traditional dance. Bharatha Natyam is one of the most ancient and well-preserved of all the classical Indian dance styles and is characterized by highly intricate footwork and rhythmic patterns. It weaves in gesture and mime, allowing the dancer/storyteller to share the nuances of mood and emotion. The music for the production is composed by acclaimed musician Sudha Raghuraman who will be providing vocals along with the ensemble consisting of G. Raghuraman (flute), Revathi Ramaswamy (veena - an ancient Indian string instrument), N. Narayanaswamy (mridangam - double sided Indian drum ), and Jerry Leake (multi-percussion).

About Shringara Triveni "love trinity"

Godha (Andal) and Meera are mystics whose outpourings are celebrated all over India. Radha, considered the divine consort of Krishna, has kindled the imagination of many a poet extolling their love. The story explores the love and longing of Godha and Meera through their poetry, and Radha through the words of Saint poet Jayadaeva from his immortal work Geeta Govindam.

About the Kalakruti Artists

Kalakruti is the Indian Artist's Association of Massachusetts, founded by Mridula Satyamurti. Their roots go back to India, but they are 'artists without borders' - steeped in the eastern culture of our formative years absorbed by osmosis; and transplanted in the western cosmos, we represent amalgamation of the two values in our art  and our lives. We are serious artists albeit professionals in diverse fields. Art is a vehicle for them to meditate, inspire, help others and, last but not the least, have colorful fun together. Featured artists at the event include: Sunanda Sahay, Raksha Soni, Mridula Satyamurthy, Vasanthi Srinivas, Giri Pottepalem, Geeta Jakkaraju, Kavita Gohil, and Gopika Narula. For more info, visit
