About Astro Health Inc

Astro Health is the world’s first company with an AI-enabled multi-agentic clinically validated digital health treatment delivery platform for substance use disorder and longevity.

With over 40 million people with substance use disorder in the U.S., only 2.7 million people receive treatment, with 82% of prescribers concentrated in urban areas. Of those receiving treatment, a third discontinue, leading to relapses, ER visits, and hospitalizations, resulting in $500 billion in healthcare costs to the U.S. economy. The highly intelligent Astro X platform supports patients in real time and prevents relapses by utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-modal data intelligence. The AI system’s adaptive framework utilizes generative AI to evolve alongside the user's needs, offering real-time patient monitoring and feedback, thus removing significant administrative burden from the healthcare system. This is the only AI system in the world with high credibility and both clinical and engineering validation. The system’s 360 degree model includes human-in-the- loop on-demand psychiatrists, licensed therapists, and health advocates to ensure timely care. Empirical validation of the platform with data from 4,000 individuals demonstrates approximately 90% validation accuracy, thus positioning it as a significant integrated treatment delivery platform application for stress and substance use disorder. A clinical pilot program has been initiated at the Los Angeles General Medical Center for platform validation in human subjects.

The company’s second AI platform will address the problem of caregiving for people living with dementia and Parkinson’s, which is an approximately $230 billion a year problem in the U.S., arising because of changes in functioning in patients that impact the ability to look after oneself, and can lead to increased anxiety-and-loss of confidence. To address this problem and its economic impact, this novel integrated AI digital healthcare support system will help improve and relearn neuropsychological and functional skills related to language, information processing, mental health status, visuospatial skills, and mobility, improving quality of life for people living with dementia. The platform’s beta model was developed in Sportstech, and Astro Health is currently raising funds for their patient validation study.

Target Audience
Substance Use Disorder Management Platform – Value-based reimbursement model for health systems, employer-covered health insurance companies, Medicaid, and country-level universal health systems such as NICE (UK), TLV (Sweden), GBA & IQWIG (Germany), and HAS (France).

Enterprise Stress Platform – Employers purchase subscriptions to reduce healthcare spending, turnover rate and improve employee productivity. Tier one will be under HR system, and tier two will involve human-in-loop licensed therapists provided as part of employee benefits.

Business Status
Astro Health was founded in San Francisco in August of 2023 after understanding the enormity of Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health problem post COVID arising high rates of treatment discontinuation and from the lack of access to healthcare in rural areas and underserved communities. As an outcomes scientist, founder Dr. Shraddha Chaugule, wanted to develop low-cost technologies that will improve treatment adherence and reduce relapse related adverse events. So, she leaned into Artificial Intelligence to design a highly intelligent digital health platform with real-time monitoring, live patient feedback and treatment delivery to improve outcomes and reduce administrative burden.
Astro X platform’s validation work was recognized by the American Psychiatric Association in May 2025 while the platform’s engineering data architecture and ground-breaking individual level detection technology will be presented at the upcoming IEEE conference presentation in Dec 2025. Based on this, a pilot program with LA General Medical Center was secured and work towards getting clinical study IRB approval for real-world platform validation has been completed.
Looking ahead, Astro Health is expanding efforts to scale, deepen engagement with health systems, and drive transformation of treatment delivery in the US delivering real impact via evidence-based sustainable solutions & treatment delivery powered by AI while being rooted in clinical and engineering research & validation. Their second integrated novel AI digital health care-support system will help improve functioning and extend independence in people living with Parkinson’s and Dementia. Beta model has been developed in Sportstech with direct application in Parkinson’s; currently the company is raising funds for patient validation study.

Funding Status
Internally, Astro Health was able to bootstrap work worth ~$1.5 million because of the super technical founding team. This work included data architecture design, platform validation, acceptance from top clinical and engineering organizations such as American Psychiatric Association and IEEE, securing pilot program partnership with LA General Medical Center, developing the clinical protocol and then securing tentative IRB approval. The wire framework is complete and with additional hiring the build will be complete for system integration.
Astro Health is now raising $5 million late SEED round via YC SAFE Notes preferably with the option of convertible notes if requested by investors for 18 months runway for two clinical programs at LA General Medical Center. More specifically, the first clinical study will involve real-world validation of stress and substance use disorder AI platform and the second study will involve precision care-support system longevity platform validation for Dementia and Parkinson’s patients. The funds will also go towards additional hiring and scaling.
