Description

Show your Love with Life Saving Skills!
Saturday, April 28, 2018
10am - 1pm
125 14th Street
Oakland Public Library

Suggested Donation of $10-30, NOTAFLOF

You may be aware that there is a rise in overdoses due to fentanyl (fueled by the War on Drugs). Narcan (naloxone) administration is one successful method to reverse overdose. Walgreens and CVS have recently been authorized to sell Narcan over the counter, and we would like to share this life-saving information. This training will teach you how to administer naloxone to someone who has overdosed. Please join us in building tangible skills for preparedness and increasing mutual care in our communities. Questions? Please email contact@lightningbolt.vision

ACCESS INFO:

FRAGRANCE-FREE

To ALL ATTENDEES: Please take measures to arrive fragrance-free at this event!!! This supports community members with chemical injuries or sensitivities, and it applies to laundry detergent, fabric softener, shampoo / conditioner / hair styling products, cologne, perfume, and more — sadly, anything manufactured to smell good. Even essential oils, though natural, are highly concentrated and can trigger severe allergies and illness — kind of like some people are highly allergic to cats, bees, or peanuts. Fragrance-free requirements are becoming more common in hospitals and other places; If you don’t know how to become fragrance-free, check out resources from the East Bay Meditation Center that center people of color.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

This event is wheelchair accessible in 2 routes:

1) via ramp + elevator at the 14th St entrance

2) via the Children’s section at the Oak St. entrance

GENDER-NEUTRAL, ACCESSIBLE RESTROOMS

The library has gender-neutral, wheelchair accessible restrooms close to the room where we’ll gather for our training.

CHAIRS

There are armless folding chairs.

AUDITORY DEVICES

The Oakland library makes auditory aids available upon request.

OTHER ACCESS NEEDS?

Do you have other access needs not reflected here? Please feel free to hit us up at contact@lightningbolt.vision and we will do our best to make sure the training has what you need!
