Event description

Description

Please join us for an interdisciplinary meeting on funding models to sustain community health worker programs in maternal and child health.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

--> How can various funding models work within communities implementing innovative CHW programs in MCH?

--> How can we directly fund CHWs in MCH?

This will be a stimulating, interactive forum. Each participant is expected to be a teacher, a student and a change agent.

By the end of this meeting, each of us will be able to:

  1. Describe basic criteria for 3 funding sources
  2. Describe the impact of at least 2 MCH CHW programs
  3. Adapt models of a proposed payment plan, a proposed program and/or an organizational budget
  4. Discuss 3 recommendations included in our recent summary of research conducted by Thorn Run Partners, Sustainable Funding for Doula Programs
  5. Write and share the definition of “sustainability” from the point of view of your specific organization or discipline
  6. Agree to a short Sustainability statement developed by all participants for MCH CHW programs

Stakeholders include:

CHWs; home health/domestic workers; people involved with home visiting, peer support or birth work; donors and grantmakers; clients; healthcare and social service providers; health insurance representatives; families; and others with a stake in the field of CHWs in maternal and child health.
