Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (CDT)
Coming soon to Austin, Texas a short fringe festival specifically catered to new works from burgeoning writers. The ShortShortFringeFestival makes its debut on Sunday May 12th at The New Movement at 616 Lavaca. Seven plays will be selected and produced for one night only starting at 7p. We will see 7 brand new plays from 7 exciting new writers on one night only!
Unlike other one act play festivals, the SSFF provides a cast and a director to ease the burden of production that might prove daunting for a first time writer. This festival provides valuable experience in all aspects of theater production. Writers get a chance to see their work staged for the first time, actors get a chance to dig in to new material, and directors get more experience coordinating a brand new play. In true collaborative form, everyone comes together with their talents in pursuit of a single show on a single night celebrating the vibrancy and wonderfully temporary aspects of what makes theater great.
Shows at 7p, 8p, and 9p on Sunday May 12th.
