Short documentaries produced by students from the CUNY School of Public Health and Department of Film and Media Studies - Integrated Media Arts MFA Program explore the role of the state, of stigma, and of commercial interests in shaping health. Whether the issue is war-time exposure to deadly chemicals, a neighborhood’s food infrastructure, or the lasting devastation of a super-storm, the filmmakers highlight the role of the community in (re)claiming health and demanding justice.
Filmmakers: Teofilia Acheampong, Karen Binger, Liz Clarey, Makia Harper, Dawn Jacob, Uki Lau, Kayoko Nakamura, Christopher Nostrand, Phung Tran-Khamphounvong, Diana Quinones Rivera, Samantha Riddell, Bryan Mark Urbsaitis, Jing Wang, Claudia Zamora.
Shorts will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
