ABOUT JON BATSON
Sometimes his stories are told with lyrics. Sometimes his stories are told with prose. But at all times Jon Batson's stories are told from a place of truth and enlightenment.
An award winning songwriter and author, Jon’s gritty, often irreverent style strikes a chord of contemplation. Jon demands your attention with subtle innuendo and carefully scattered satire. As a singer, songwriter and published author, Jon’s signature is intentionally provocative - and refreshingly entertaining.
Jon Batson is four-time winner of the "Lower Cape Fear Short Story Contest" and twice Honorable Mention in the "Writers of the Future" contest. His six novels and three short story collections can be found on Amazon.
Jon lives with his wife in Raleigh, NC., where he is outlining his next novel.

An award-winning author, he is a four time winner of the Lower Cape Fear Short Story Contest and twice awarded Honorable Mention in the internationally known Writers of The Future Contest for science fiction writers. As a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Jon has five Hollywood produced musicals, two CDs and a collectible vinyl record to his credit. Jon lives with his wife, Eileen, in Raleigh, North Carolina and is currently writing his next novel.
In a world of synthesized sound and uninteresting lyrics, Jon writes songs that flood the mind with imagery and purposeful thought. Jon chooses his lyrics much like one would choose a wine – carefully, methodically and with a deep knowing of the intended response.
Nothing about Jon’s songwriting is by happenstance. Jon quips that there is always a message in every song, no matter how slight. Every song has its own journey. Each journey is designed to help the listener release superficial thoughts and make room for an intimate exchange that requires all of the senses.
The result, a melodious blend of heart and harmony.
