Shorebirds At the Santa Ana River Mouth
Join our June webinar where Scott Thomas of Sea & Sage Audubon will speak to us about the Santa Ana River Mouth and neighboring beaches, where several Threatened and Endangered Birds breed and spend much of the year. This area is one of the busiest coastal areas in the country for humans, while many species of birds rely on the nutrient rich Santa Ana River. Sea and Sage Audubon Society has been working for decades to help balance the needs of the birds with the public demand for recreation. Scott will share some of the recent and historical conservation efforts.
💥 This webinar will be recorded and posted to our Youtube and Social Channels.
Includes closed captioning and Spanish language simulcast.
Scott Thomas is the Conservation Vice Chair and Raptor Research Chairperson for Sea and Sage Audubon. Scott helps manage volunteer programs, protecting terns and plovers and leads the battle to protect the mouth of the Santa Ana River. He works as a wildlife biologist specializing in raptor ecology, endangered species, and avian reproduction and holds Federal Permits to conduct predator management in Least Tern and Snowy Plover breeding colonies.
