Event description

Description

The Stage Managers' Association is pleased to present it's first ever Lecture Series here in New York!

This series of five lectures is designed to give an in-depth look at the role of the stage manager and the software that we use.

In the second session, the owners and creators of Shoflo and Stage Write will give an in-depth look on how to use and access their software.

Shoflo is used in corporate events to help create Run of Shows that are customizable for not only you as the manager but for the user; for example, the light board operator can edit how they see the Run of Show only showing their information and individual notes. The software also allows you to grant access per show/event to your crew and upload schedules and content for that event so that all your information is in one location. During the actual show, it keeps timing and notes of each item and will auto update so you know when your next cue is based on the actual timing of the show.

Stage Write is the used by stage managers, directors & dance captains across Broadway as a way to document blocking in a graphically and then archive it and send out to cast and use for fill-in rehearsals and more. You can also import your script and then have your blocking correspond directly into the script. Then lay in your cues and call directly from the program with all your information in one place.

Closer to the date of the event, links will be sent to those registered to sign up for access to trials for this session. For this event please bring a laptop or tablet to use during the session.

SMA Members can use their unique code to access member pricing for the event.

All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
