Description

Join Shoal Creek Conservancy for the 4th Shoal Creek Tour of the 2017 Fall Season, generously sponsored by Google. This special history walk is hosted by Conservancy's Shoal Creek Historic Bridges Committee.

The history of Austin can be told along the banks of Shoal Creek. Our expert guide Ted Lee Eubanks will start the tour on the banks of Shoal Creek at the New Central Library, the site of the founding of Waterloo (Austin's original name). We'll head north along the Shoal Creek Trail visiting the 3rd Street railroad trestle, the historic 6th Street bridge, the Wood Street Settlement and other sites along the way.
