Join the Shoal Creek Conservancy for our Ecology of Shoal Creek Walking Tour! The tour will be led by ecologist and dedicated Shoal Creek volunteer Carolyn Long. Topics include invasive species 101, native plant restoration techniques, and general plant identification. Join us in the journey through the fascinating world of Shoal Creek ecology!
Carolyn Long is a community volunteer passionate about conservation and education. She is a Texas Master Naturalist and served as a director, and ultimately Advisory Council Chairman, at Austin’s Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. She is the immediate past chair of Breakthrough Austin, which provides out-of-school learning and academic case management to students from low-income communities who will be the first in their families to graduate from college.
We'll meet at the parking lot for off-leash area at Shoal Creek Boulevard along the Shoal Creek trail. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and don't forget your water and bug spray.
See you there!
