Help Bridge Our Future To Our Past
Shoal Creek Conservancy is spearheading the rehabilitation of the 1887 West 6th Street Bridge over Shoal Creek, a hand-built structure that predates the Texas Capitol building. Join us to celebrate the progress that has been made to restore this historic treasure, and learn how you can help support the future phases of restoration.
This intimate gathering will feature wine and appetizers by The Grove Wine Bar + Kitchen. Shoal Creek Conservancy Board Member, Certified Heritage Interpreter and Certified Interpretive Planner Ted Lee Eubanks will tell us about the bridge's long history and why its heritage is more relevant than ever to our burgeoning city. Project partners Limbacher & Godfrey Architects and Sparks Engineering will be on hand to tell us about the bridge's ongoing rehabilitation.
Special thanks to The Burdine Johnson Foundation and the Texas Historical Commission for making this project possible. Thank you also to our partners at the City of Austin Public Works Department and Shoal Creek Conservancy's Historic Bridges Committee.
We look forward to seeing you there!
