Event description

Description

Shift Research Lab invites you to attend the fourth annual Mile High Data Day on Tuesday, September 24 at the Arvada Center. Join metro Denver’s data community as we share best practices, learn from experts and strengthen our region’s ability to use data to drive social change.

The day will feature interactive breakout sessions focused on data and social change geared toward attendees with varying levels of data literacy. There will be three tracks from which to choose throughout the day so you can attend sessions that match your expertise and interests:

  • Data in Action: Get inspired to use data in your work by hearing how other organizations are leveraging data in their programs and communications to drive social change and community engagement.

  • Deep Data Dive: Explore the technical side of data with sessions on data transformation and visualization.

  • Data Foundations: Learn the foundations of data management, visualizations and creating a data-driven culture in your organization from General Assembly data experts.

Mile High Data Day 2019 will feature keynote speaker Cindy DeGroen, Senior Demographer at the Colorado State Demography Office, who has over 25 years of experience analyzing population and economic trends in Colorado and beyond. Cindy will be sharing why the 2020 Census matters to local communities, and how Census data has been used to improve the lives of Coloradans. Learn more about how a 2020 Census undercount could impact Colorado communities and the social sector.

The agenda below provides an overview of the day. The cost to attend this event is $30.
