Make your own Shibori Dyed Silk Scarf!

About this event

Join textile artists Ernie Kind and Mary Sue Foster from 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, as they guide you through the process of Shibori dying to create your own scarf at the Coutts Museum of Art.

Each ticket is $55 for Museum Members or $60 for non-Members, all materials are provided. Seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased before the event (no walk-ins).

The Coutts Museum of Art is hosting this two and a half hour long workshop in their Create Space. Shibori Dyeing is a Japanese textile process using folding and binding to create patterns, traditionally on silk fabric.

Mary Sue Foster has been working with textiles most of her life. With degrees in textile design and art education she has worked at public schools and at Wichita State University. Ernie Kind is a formally trained ceramist who works with both textiles and ceramics. Both are also members of the Wichita Weavers, Spinners & Dyers Guild.

The Coutts Museum of Art is a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports art, artists, and art education to those in El Dorado, the surrounding area, and its visitors. It is located at 110 N. Main St., El Dorado, KS 67042.
