Sheltering Art: Designing Interiors for Private Collections
Wednesday, June 5th
Studio Workshops/Quatrain, Galleria 272
Designing residential interiors around private collections is itself a fine art. Beyond aesthetic considerations, concerns like light, weight, stability, climate and scale impact display. Join 3D - Definitive Design + Decor Editor in Chief Alisa Carroll for a conversation with interior designers Gary Hutton and Michael Booth, whose projects include residences for world-class collectors, about the exhibition and conservation of art in the home--from the installation by crane of a 1,600-lb Jeff Wall photograph to the meticulous placement of a Tang dynasty porcelain. Lunch will be served.
