STRATEGIES FOR SELF-SUPPORT AND SELF-CARE FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING ESTRANGEMENT

Stand Alone's support group facilitator Krysia Ochyra has created an innovative therapeutic workshop on the ways in which you can support yourself to cope with the struggles and challenges of life when estranged from family.

We have chosen this time of year to run the workshop as it is the beginning of spring, a time for new growth and life, perhaps an opportunity to move forwards in a more hopeful frame of mind.

The workshop will feature activities, small group work and a chance to meet and share with others who are experiencing family estrangement. We aim for you complete the workshop with the skills to cope with moments of low self-esteem, fear and doubt.

This group is open to all adults who are estranged from their family, and participants should be aware that they will be in a mixed group with people who are estranged from siblings, parents, and children/grandchildren. The activity based focus means groups of this kind have been very successful in the past, as the focus is not on a deep exploration of others stories.

Sheffield: Sunday 3rd June 2018

2pm-4.45pm

Stand Alone reserves the right to cancel this workshop if numbers are too low. We do not recieve any funding for our workshops in Sheffield so must cover our costs in order to carry out our work. We will let you know a week before the event if this is the case.
