Time for a haircut! Watch as our sheep get their much-needed spring trims. — Celebrating 325 Years of Continuous Farming in 2022
About this event
Celebrate Spring on the farm! Join us for NYC’s ONLY sheep shearing festival. Farmer-led tours and sheep shearing demonstrations connect visitors to life on the farm. Learn about the cycle of wool processing and visit with fiber artisans as they showcase spinning, weaving, and knitting. Get down to the foot stomping rhythms of New Orleans-inspired band Mama Juke (12-4p), and enjoy hayrides*, kids crafts, and a free scavenger hunt to add to the fun! Visit the historic Adriance Farmhouse for 18th-century cooking demos, and pick up seedlings for your home garden at Queens Farm's spring plant sale. Be sure to stop by the Con Edison Ecology Booth to Adopt-a-Worm and get recycling tips. Local brews by Rockaway Brewing Co., tasty food vendors, and hayrides will keep you coming baaa-ck for more.
*Hayrides: $5/person; purchase on-site
