Book selection: Linger by Hetty McKinnon
Join us for the first gathering of our new Cookbook Club on Sunday, February 15th, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Shea Cheese.
We're starting with Hetty Lui McKinnon's Linger : Salads, sweets and stories to savor- a beautiful collection of recipes designed to keep people at the table longer, which feels exactly right for a cookbook club at a cheese shop. Hetty writes about food that brings people together, with vegetable-forward dishes that are generous, flavorful, and meant to be shared.
Here's how it works: Choose a recipe from Linger that speaks to you, make it, and bring it to share. We'll eat together, talk about what we cooked (the triumphs, the surprises, the "I'd do this differently next time"), and discuss the book itself - Hetty's approach to cooking, her stories, what resonated with you.
Along with your dish, bring your own plate and fork (the fewer dishes, the better).
Grab your ticket by February 8th so we can plan accordingly and make sure we have a good variety of dishes. We will email you after the 8th to get your details. That should give everyone enough time to get the book from your favorite local bookseller and work through a few recipes.
This is about good food, good conversation, and the kind of meal that makes you lose track of time. See you in February.
