Event description

Shavuot on the Mountain

Multi-generational program for families, children, teens, individuals, elders, and people of all ages

Engage in Community, practice new skills that add joy and ease to your life, and revel in the beauty of the natural world in Vermont!

Saturday June 8 - Sunday, June 9

As we celebrate the awakening of the plant world and revelation within, join us for this 5th annual Shavuot on the Mountain. Living Tree in collaboration with JCOGS, Ruach HaMaqom, Roots and Trails, Beth Jacob, and JCVT offers an inspirational weekend immersed in the beauty of the natural world, as we learn, hike, sing, dance, and share in a multi-generational community celebration. This year we will have a special focus on learning from tradition - practices to incorporate into a peaceful and joyful life, including a late night ecstatic dance as we listen and dance to the revelation within. Come for the whole event or just the part that is most appealing to you.

In Temple times in Jerusalem, people would pilgrimage to Jerusalem to bring the first fruits of their harvest to offer at the Temple Service. We embody a modern twist on this ancient custom by making pilgrimage on the largest mountain in Vermont, bringing the bounty of early spring in Vermont and share in prayerful singing and a bountiful parade.
