Event description

Shattering the Silence: Whatever it Takes to Prevent Suicide will be held at Englewood Baptist Church on September 13th to bring awareness to Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Resources & Services available in Rural West TN. CEUs will be provided by Lakeside Behavioral Health. Breakfast & lunch provided.

At this conference, we will address stigma associated with seeking treatment and support. We will also provide education so that you are more equipt with warnings signs, protective factors, and with ultimate goal of improving the quality of care for Tennesseans.

This conference will touch on Suicide Prevention efforts across the lifespan to shed light on services often right in front of us, but often feel hidden because we don’t know where to access the services. All too often, people in need of services don’t know where to turn for support and due to the stigma associated with receiving care for mental health needs often individuals don’t access the care they may need. You will also hear personal testimonies from surviors of loss and attempters which will help connect you to a deeper understanding of the journey one might experierence having suicidal ideation or losing a loved one.

This conference would be educational for teachers, counselors, social workers, mental health workers, law enforcement, correctional officers, and anyone in a role who would like a deeper understanding about Suicide Prevention efforts in Rural West TN Counties.

It is important we continue the conversation, continue providing a platform for communities, so together a solution driven approach will be addressed to help face the challenges of preventing suicides and work together to reduce the rates of suicide in Tennessee.
