Description
Sharp Radway’s “Music Of The Streets” is a music project that pays homage to iconic figures in Jazz. The music presented by the group focuses on music composed by Jazz greats who once lived, or currently reside, in Sugar Hill, Harlem; Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn; Newark, NJ; Wilmington, Delaware; Detroit; Philadelphia; Queens, NY; and other neighborhoods and cities.
The Queens Chapter of the project focuses on the rich Jazz legacy of Queens, New York. Some of the artists that the project pays homage to are Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, Lena Horn, Lester Young, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ben Webster, and several others from the Corona, Jamaica, Hollis, East Elmhurst, Flushing, Bayside, Springfield Gardens, and St. Albans neighborhoods. The group also features original music composed by its leader, Sharp Radway.
About Sharp Radway
Sharp Radway is a pianist, composer, arranger and author who is a native of Hartford, Connecticut and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Sharp has worked with several jazz luminaries, including Yusef Lateef, Benny Golson, Red Holloway, and many more.
He is also the music director, pianist, and arranger for The Celebration of Lionel Hampton Big Band and The New York City Ska Orchestra. Staying true to his roots, he continues to play in church regularly, serving as Music Director for a local church in Brooklyn, New York.

Tickets Purchase Policy
Queens Library programs are a free to the public. In order to make the programs available to the most number of people we are limiting general admission free tickets to 2 per individual. Multiple orders per individual are not allowed and will be cancelled. This policy ensures that no-shows are reduced and tickets are available to the most number of people.
