On 24th Sept 2016 between 10am and 6:30pm Bristol will host the UK's first Shark festival. This all day festival organised by Bristol based shark saving group Fin Fighters will be held at the M-Shed on Princess Road, Wapping Wharf. This unique gathering will bring together some of the leading lights in the world of shark and ray conservation including The Shark Trust, Marine Conservation Society and Manta Trust to celebrate some of the planets most misunderstood and important creatures.
Open to all the family the festival will feature artists, surfers, underwater photographers and film makers whose efforts will be exhibited throughout the venue. The day will also play host to over 30 stalls and activities as well as a program of incredible speakers, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Activities include a masterclass from Frogfish Photography, a citizen shark science workshop with Fin Fighters and presentations from producers of the recent hit BBC documentary series Shark, along with many other demonstrations and talks from experts throughout the day. The finale of the event will be a screening and UK premiere of David Diley’s award winning documentary Of Shark & Man.
Catering for shark lovers, conservationists, divers, kids and those with curiosity, Sharkfest 2016 is a day not to be missed.
