What is SharePoint Retreat South West London 2011?
It's on a Saturday morning for SharePoint 2010 developers and architects. Our goal is to improve communication allowing technical folk to see how things can be done in SP2010.
On the day
- 08:45 - Registration
- 09:00 - Session 1: LINQ to SharePoint presentation (What is it, when to use it, common issues, demo)
- 09:45 - Practice Exercise (Pair program practice exercise)
- 10:15 - Retrospective
- 10:30 - Practice Exercise (Pair program practice exercise)
- 11:00 - Retrospective
- 11:15 - Tea, coffee and pastries.
- 11:30 - Session 2: InfoPath 2010 presentation (New features, best practice, issues, future prospects, demo)
- 12:15 - Practice Exercise (Design and publish InfoPath forms)
- 12:45 - Retrospective
- 13:00 - Day ends or join us for a general discussion over lunch
As we pair program, you will need a laptop with:
- SharePoint 2010 (Enterprise edition preferable)
- Visual Studio 2010 (CKSDev 1.2 & SharePoint 2010 Power Tool extensions installed)
- InfoPath 2010
Sessions
Session 1 - Paul Beck
Demonstrate LINQ to SharePoint 2010. Use Visual Studio 2010 to creating a visual web part to perform CRUD operations on 2 SharePoint lists within a sandbox solution.
Session 2 - Ashraf Islam
Discuss and demonstrate integration of InfoPath with SharePoint. I will also discuss some of the new features that are helping InfoPath become a mainstream tool.
