THEME: SHAPE A BETTER ECONOMY BY DESIGN

COVID-19 has reshaped political, socio-economic conditions, raising the urgency for a rethink of the economic system. The theme for the summit is: “Shape a Better Economy by Design”, seeking to gather leaders and professionals from public sector, business and civil society who have committed themselves to shaping an inclusive economic system with a preference for equitable and sustainable growth. As an annual summit of Consulus Global, this event brings together leaders who are doing their best to impact a better economy for a sustainable future.

Here are the following four tracks that will take place during this event:

Track 1: Better Businesses by Design: COVID-19 has intensified the question about the purpose of business. What the pandemic has shown is it will no longer be business as usual. For businesses to continue to thrive, they have to show a clear commitment to sustainability, impact, and contribute to the common good. This track will cover social enterprises, how family organisations need to change, and how to embed impact into strategy

Track 2: Better Causes by Design: COVID-19 has generated a greater sense of urgency for change yet it has not been easy for non-profit organisations to thrive. There is a need to rethink business models to better deliver impact so that change can be achieved at scale. This track will explore how a new way of thinking about impact can shape our present and future.

Track 3: Better Communities by Design: This prolonged pandemic has created a great sense of isolation in many communities. Certainly it is important to bring about a new planning framework and approaches to shape communities that will be more resilient and be inclusive. This track will cover new approaches in Smart Cities, how to enable dignified lifestyle for the elderly and through developments shape communities of purpose and contribute to the common good.

Track 4: Better Education by Design: Many professionals and leaders have been shell-shocked by this pandemic, and it is time that education as a sector responds with innovation. From shaping leadership development to preparing a future generation, the time for change is now. This track will cover new approaches in leadership development, professional and educational development for the youth.

METHODOLOGY

The summit adopts the unique Shape the World Method of 3S through relational exchanges, sharing sessions, panel discussions through these:

Sense – Sense the shifting trends and what it means for you, your industry and what change will be needed.

Synergy – Connect with like-minded leaders who do not need to be told that change is needed and believe that the time is now for common action

Scale – Together find ways to scale solutions together

The summit is expected to draw representatives from 12 international organisations from 7 countries, and over 200 delegates from 20 nations covering 4 continents, from different academic, social, racial and religious backgrounds. The entire program will be on zoom and live-streamed on FB and Youtube as well. Participants who sign up will be able to participate in breakout rooms for networking via ZOOM.
