About this Event

Since his debut The Middle Way in 2005, Shane Alexander has forged a singular style blending west coast folk, rock and psychedelia into a successful sound that has appeared in over 100 television shows and films.

Touring the US and Europe regularly - both as a headliner, and as support for acts like Bon Iver, Jewel, John Hiatt, Suzanne Vega, Seal, Styx and Yes, the fiercely independent artist has developed a loyal international fanbase, further enhanced in recent months when 'Skyway Drive-In', a solo acoustic track from the album Ladera, crossed over 14 million streams on Spotify.

The new album is Alexander's first self production, and was the first record made at his new Buddhaland Studios facility in Southern California. Bliss is a timeless tribute to the artist's classic rock and folk influences, featuring Alexander’s crystalline tenor and deft acoustic guitar work at the heart of all the tracks. For all of the heartache and lessons learned on the album, the closing title track leaves the listener on a sublime note of peace and forgiveness, one that is mirrored in the cover image, hand-drawn by veteran rock and roll artist Alan Forbes.

Since the release of Bliss, and tours in The United States and Europe, Shane produced Shelby Figueroa’s debut Highwire (which reached NUMBER ONE on Amazon’s Singer/Songwriter chart) and Jenny Van West's acclaimed Happiness to Burn.

A Life Like Ours, the new album from Shane Alexander will be released in spring of 2019.

About Jacob Miller

A Wisconsin native, Jacob Miller left his hometown for Portland, OR the summer of 2009 via Amtrak; bringing with him only a suitcase and a Fender Jaguar guitar. After just one year in the city - he left to travel North America to study and perform music while working on various farms and ranches between travels. Time spent as a farm hand in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina shaped his devotion to the finger picking style of the region. Playing along with old recordings and locals in the surrounding areas of Appalachia, Miller delved into the inner workings of the music’s style and history.

After 7+ years of managing/leading a 6-piece jazz band, traveling and performing throughout North America and internationally -Miller now focuses his efforts on a different kind of songwriting and storytelling.

With an affinity for minimalist pop and firm roots planted in American traditional music, Jacob Miller crafts a timeless sound unique to his style and abilities.

In 2019, Jacob will release and tour a debut album which displays his abilities as a performer, writer and composer. Recorded and performed entirely by Miller in a SE Portland living room turned studio - songs and ideas come together to form an album that is hard, honest and heartfelt.
