Shakespeare Showdown 2017

What is the Shakespeare Showdown - The Shakespeare Showdown is a chance for troupes to get together and show off. Each troupe gets to perform their play. We also provide workshops and speakers to enhance their Shakespeare experience. We will have workshops on improv, stage compact, accents and more.
Cost - $50 per person, until March 15 after which it will raise to $60 per person – includes housing, workshops and t-shirt Registration will close on April 15.
Location - Heber Valley Camp; this beautiful camp is located on a spectacular tract of land covering more than 8,000 acres in the mountains southeast of Heber, Utah. Cabins - The cabins are arranged into "campsites" of two, three or four cabins each. Each cabin has 8 built-in bunk bed platforms, for a total of 16 beds. Thus, a campsite with three cabins will accommodate 48 people. Each platform measures 36" x 84" and does not have a mattress or padding. Campers should bring their own pads and sleeping bags. Each cabin includes a whiteboard, a corkboard, overhead fluorescent lights and two electric outlets
Food and Transportation - Shakespeare Showdown will not provide any food or transportation. Every mentor/commonwealth school must provide all food and transportation for their troupe. Food Preparation Areas Your troupe will be assigned a covered cooking area which contains two propane stoves (3 burners each — propane provided), grill and griddle attachments and sinks with running water for food preparation and washing dishes. A normal home-sized refrigerator/freezer is available in the storage room associated with each cooking area. Please bring all utensils and equipment required to cook and serve your food, and to clean up afterwards. You may or may not have to share a cooking area with another troupe.
Chaperons - Every troupe must bring adult chaperons for every 6-7 students. If there are young men in the group at least one chaperon must be male. T-shirts – every student will be given a T-shirt in a color specific to their group. This is included in the price of the Showdown.
Extra - We will also be selling Shakespeare showdown hoodies which you can purchase during registration or at the camp for $25. Both the additional t-shirts and hoodies will be picked up at the showdown.
How long does it last? - Three days. Troupes arive between 10:00 and 11:00 the first day and leave a little before noon on the third.
