Nebraska Shakespeare's Mission:

Nebraska Shakespeare creates entertaining, challenging productions as well as immersive educational experiences that connect our diverse community to Shakespeare's exploration of what it means to be human. On stage, in the classroom, and through collaborative partnerships, we CREATE, ENGAGE, and INSPIRE.

This year, Nebraska Shakespeare presents the 14th season of Shakespeare On Tour, its traveling workshop and performance series, with Othello.

Shakespeare On Tour provides access to educational performing arts to an average of 35 schools and over 7,400 students annually, has traveled to over 185 communities in its history, and will reach its 100,000th student this fall.

Shakespeare On Tour is committed to bringing Shakespeare’s work to the under-served communities of Nebraska. Upwards of 30% of the schools reached each year are located in rural communities-such as Gering, Arapahoe, Lexington, Oshkosh, O’Neil, and Valentine-that previously never had the opportunity to view a professional touring production. Nebraska Shakespeare is also committed to reaching the under-served in Nebraska’s larger cities. cities. Shakespeare On Tour regularly travels to all of the high schools in Omaha Public and Lincoln Public Schools districts that qualify as Title 1 schools, as well as other schools across the state. In Omaha, Shakespeare On Tour travels to the top ethnically-diverse high schools including Benson Magnet, Bryan, Northwest Magnet, and South High School .
