About this Event

Ethnic Studies 50th Anniversary Commemoration Week, Oct. 7-12!

Practicing Ethnic Studies – Past, Present and Future

The College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University invites you to our 50th Anniversary Commemoration Week on October 7-12. We're hosting a series of events, including interactive presentations, panel discussions, exhibits, performances, and opportunities for inter-generational dialogue among college founders, students, faculty, staff, and our on- and off-campus colleagues.

The commemoration week includes a summit in partnership with the Associated Students of SFSU and the California State University (CSU) Council on Ethnic Studies – a consortium of over 200 faculty members from the 23 campuses of the CSU.

We will conclude our anniversary commemoration week with a gala dinner on the evening of October 12. Our extended family of 1968 strikers, alumni, supporters and friends spanning fifty years is invited to gather, share fine food and drink, listen to live music, and celebrate this momentous date together!

Visit our Ethnic Studies 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner registration page to buy gala tickets and to learn about sponsorship opportunities and tribute ads in the commemorative event program.
