Join Cal Poly Bay Area Alumni for a 7.3 or 9.5 mile hike on Windy Hill Preserve!
All ages and skill levels are welcome. This is a beautiful, family-friendly hike boasting stunning bay views, a scenic mid-way picnic spot, and a variety of rolling hills and wooded scenery along the way. Most of the 1,600 ft total elevation gain occurs in the first half of the hike.
The group will meet at the Betsy Crowder trailhead for a 5 minute orientation at 9:00am sharp. We'll take a snack break at the upper picnic area near Skyline Blvd, and enjoy the views before continuing along the remainder of the loop. Bring your own water and snacks. We estimate the long loop will take approximately 3 1/2 hours.
We will hike the Betsy Crowder Trail to the Spring Ridge Trail. The group will take a snack/lunch break at the picnic area along the Bay Area Ridge Trail and continue back via the Razorback Ridge Trail and Eagle Trail. A small portion of the group may choose to take the Hamms Gulch Trail for a quicker return trip (7.3 mile loop, dog-friendly alternative).
