Join us on Friday August 24th for our second workshop: small tool maintenace. Learn how to keep your small garden and farm tools working through regular sharpening, maintenance, and a knowledge of how to deconstruct and reconstruct your tools during maintenance.

Small tools runs from 3pm-5pm. Feel free to join late.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to the roof?

The entrance to our building is on the corner of 38th and Northern Blvd, underneath a sign that reads 'Standard Motor Products'. Guests will sign in and out at the front security desk, and be directed towards the passenger elevator that takes you to the roof.

Should I bring anything?

We encourage guests to bring sunscreen, a hat, water bottle, and closed toed shoes! Wear clothes you're comfortable getting dirty; we like to trek out into the fields during farm tours! We also encourage folks to bring a pen and paper.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes! We provide farm fresh snacks, water, coffee, and a selection of tea. We cannot accommodate allergies, food or otherwise; please keep this in mind.

Who are the community workshops for?

The community! We encourage any folks interested in urban agriculture and community gardening to join. These workshops are focused on community connection and skill building, so please come ready to learn! Folks of all knowledge and skill bases are encouraged to join.

Is there a fee?

No, the majority of our Community Workshops will be free. There may be one or two special workshops in our series which require a fee to accommodate the costs of running it; the fee will be requested during ticket reservation, all proceeds going to Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens.

Can I donate?

Yes! There will be a QR Code present at all Community Workshops. Should you like to support the farm and our programs, you can follow it to donate to the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, who we are a program of.
