SfE/NWES Regional Clinical Cases 2016
Calling all Endocrinology enthusiasts to Manchester!
Supported by a grant from the Society for Endocrinology, the North West Endocrine Society is excited to announce a Regional Clinical Cases day on Thursday 1st December 2016.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for students, trainees, nurse specialists and clinicians to present endocrine cases of interest, discuss them with experts, and share ideas with colleagues.
To complete the event, we will be welcoming two internationally-renowned plenary speakers:
Professor AJ van der Lely (Erasmus MC, Rotterdam) - President of the European Society of Endocrinology: "Are we addicted to sugar?"
Professor Fred Wu (University of Manchester) - Former President, European Academy of Andrology: "An update on male hypogonadism"
It promises to be a very enjoyable, educational day, and we do hope you'll be able to join us. You'll find further information below. If you have any questions, please get in touch using the contact form at the bottom of the page.
Click here. A light buffet lunch will be provided (including vegetarian option), plus tea and coffee. Please let us know when registering if you have other dietary requirements.
Abstracts describing cases of interest, with an endocrine theme, are welcome to be submitted by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). Let us know if you are a student or trainee. Please limit your abstract to 250 words, remove ALL patient identifiable information, and submit as a Word document. Abstracts will be scored by a panel. Authors of the highest-scoring abstracts will be invited to present their cases as oral presentations; the remainder will be invited to present as posters.
Prizes will be awarded to the best oral presentation and best poster.
If your case is accepted for presentation you will be entitled to a discounted open access publication in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Case Reports, a Society for Endocrinology-endorsed online resource. You can publish your full case report for just £280 (standard fee £350). EDM Case Reports publishes and links together case reports across endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, providing the community with a welcome publishing outlet and an essential information resource to further both medical education and clinical practice.
We want to inspire the endocrinologists of the future; as such, this event is FREE. We are grateful to the Society for Endocrinology for a Regional Clinical Cases grant towards this event.
This event will qualify you for 5 RCP CPD points.
Abstract submission: Friday 14th October 2016
