Event description

Description

This 8-hour training examines the dynamics and sociocultural context of sexual violence as it impacts male survivors, with particular focus on female sexual perpetration, myths about male victimization, and unique barriers to reporting for men. Participants will learn the foundations of providing sexual assault advocacy to men, including tone, rapport building, and privileged communication, as well as crisis intervention tools to address the multifaceted traumatic impact of sexual assault. This training also incorporates advanced advocacy strategies rooted in the neurobiology of trauma and considering the complex needs and intersectional identities of male survivors of sexual violence. This training is AZ Post and COJET Certified and may qualify for CLE credits.
